Your head coach
Tommy Wales
4th-Degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt
Tommy has been training Brazilian jiu-jitsu for over two decades and earned his fourth-degree black belt under a lineage of championship competitors.
He founded Vortex Jiu Jitsu Academy in Palm Bay in 2008 with one mission: bring serious, technical coaching — the kind he wished he’d had when he started — to every student who walks through the door.
Today, Tommy leads an eight-coach staff teaching Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai to kids, teens, and adults at every level.
