About the program

What you’ll be training

Muay Thai is one of the most fitness-intensive programs we offer. The class focuses on the heavily-developed kickboxing styles of the art — punches, kicks, elbows, knees, and the clinch — with an emphasis on technique first, conditioning second.

Every class is a full-body workout, but the goal isn’t cardio. The goal is the technical execution that makes Muay Thai effective: timing, distance, balance, and the ability to stay composed when the round gets long.

  • Punches, kicks, elbows, knees — the eight weapons of Muay Thai
  • Clinch work and sweeps from the Thai clinch
  • Pad work, bag work, and structured partner drills
  • Conditioning that comes from training, not from a treadmill

Adult Muay Thai is offered exclusively to adults and runs multiple evenings per week. First class is free.

Head coach Tommy Wales is a 4th-degree Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and the founder of Vortex. He leads an eight-coach staff who were all trained inside this room.
